Cold Weather Survival Pack Donation Drive a HUGE SUCESS!
Thank you for all of your Generosity in making VETS Incorporated’s first donation drive a overwhelming success. With the many cold weather items purchased off of our Amazon Cold Weather Survival Pack Wishlist. We were able to put together close to 250 Packs, which consisted of: a draw string backpack, 8 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of gloves, beanie, pullover neck warmer and a sleeping bag.
The appreciation shown by our homeless vets and community was deep. We passed these backs out to different shelters Christmas Eve and Christmas day we then hit the streets as it was a heart wrenching afternoon but full of gratitude by the overwhelming number of homeless communities under the overpasses, in alley ways, parking lots, basically anywhere they could lay their heads without being run off to a different location by law enforcement.
Homelessness isn’t a problem in the downtown Louisville area it is a full-blown epidemic. Thanks to all of the generous donors the cold nights will go a little better for them but we need to do more. The connections I made during distributing these donations at Wayside Christian Mission lead to a weekly meeting with the close to 40 veterans in their shelter program. I attend listen to there issues and try to provide assistance in any way I can. many in the homeless community are trying to get their lives back thru programs which try to get them back into the workforce and back on their feet again. Vets Incorporated has pledged our assistance to help work these problems one veteran at a time. With your continued support we can keep making a positive difference in their lives. It is with great gratitude that I thank all that donated once again.
